Quilting takes a lot of time, space, and overhead cost for materials that will keep your loved ones warm and cozy for generations. Many people are surprised to learn that thread, fabric, and needles alone can cost well into the hundreds.

Here's how our pricing works:

Materials:

Fabric $12-20 per yard

Thread $6-10 per spool depending on material (polyester vs cotton, metallic etc.)

Batting $12-16 per yard

(variation in size depends on thickness; single vs double filled

Needles $8-10 per project

Labor: each project above took more than 60 hours of experienced measuring, cutting, ironing, piecing, quilting, and binding- often from two people working together. With all that investment of time and energy, it is truly impossible to put an affordable rate for skilled craftsmanship and experience.

We concluded that the cost of materials quoted above for each project was a reasonable trade, with a minimum starting price of $200 per project.
